U-Axis Boring Head Applications for Hori
Equipped with a U-axis boring head, the horizontal machining center precisely controls the radial movement of the boring head slide through a U-axis servo motor. Synchronized feed machining during spindle rotation enables a wide range of applications, including threading, taper machining, grooving, undercutting, and contour surface machining, allowing the machining center to achieve highly efficient turning capabilities.
Combined with an automatic tool changer (ATC), the system integrates seamlessly with standard machining processes to deliver uninterrupted, one-machine complete machining, significantly improving productivity and machining flexibility.
Featuring a modular tool disc design, the tooling configuration offers high versatility, enabling multiple machining operations to be completed with a single tool holder, reducing tool change time and fixture costs.
In addition, the specially designed counterweight system effectively balances the tool’s center of gravity during size adjustments, minimizing vibration and enhancing machining stability and precision performance.
